Nottingham Arms Dump has unfolded over the last few months to bring together concerned members of the community and anti-arms trade campaigners from the city to build a 25 foot model replica of a Heckler and Koch machine gun. The gun was built and marched to the UK head quarters of the gun manufacturers Heckler and Koch, which is on Easter Park Industrial Estate in the Lenton area of Nottingham.
That demo was hailed as a success by those that helped to create it and Nottingham Arms Dump activists have been credited with breaking the nottingham evening posts embargo on anything too risque about Heckler and Koch. Its positive movement forward for those working against Heckler and Koch.
Thank You to all of us that made it happen!
Next on the agenda is the building of a 15ft model tank to be marched to the chillwell army barracks in an anti-war demonstration next year, hopefully coinciding with other anti-militarist activities in the region at around the same time.
Please get involved if you want, if you can and if you have ideas to bring to the group then that is brilliant, too.
